Verse three says, since they did not know the righteousness of God! What is righteousness? With the heart, man believes that Jesus is his righteousness. But they do not know this! There is nothing heartfelt on the pages or in the book. That is their belief. And what is God’s righteousness? It is a gift from God, which is the opposite of self-righteousness. God’s righteousness boasts in the finished work of our lord Jesus Christ, while self-righteousness boasts in itself. And God’s righteousness, which is a gift from above, boasts in the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ.
