Autorenporträt
Author of Jane Eyre, Shirley, and Villette, Charlotte Brontë ranks among the greatest English novelists. Born in Yorkshire, where she remained for most of her life, she had a troubled childhood. She, her sisters Anne and Emily, and her brother Branwell took solace in storytelling, producing a collection of highly imaginative and vivid tales. With such a remarkable apprenticeship in writing, Charlotte Brontë went on to pen some of the best-loved novels of all time.
