Marina Umlauf wurde 1967 in einer kleinen Stadt im südhessischen Main-Taunus-Kreis geboren. Nach Abschluss einer kaufmännischen Ausbildung arbeitete sie als Sachbearbeiterin in verschiedenen Bereichen. ¿Das geheimnisvolle Dorf¿ erschien im Mai 2022 im novum Verlag und war nach ¿Das Geheimnis im See¿ (Februar 2021, Edition Fischer) ihr zweiter Roman.
