Carolyn Lacek is an author, illustrator, teacher and ministry leader, serving the body of Christ in different capacities for over thirty-five years. In her earlier years, she graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and went to work for a local newspaper writing articles and illustrating editorial cartoons. She opened her own ceramics studio a few years later, where she taught lessons to women.After meeting and marrying David Lacek who was in seminary at the time, she went on to join him in different ministries to churches in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas as well. The couple eventually pastored their own congregation that they had for seven years. During this time they sometimes shared the pulpit teaming up to teach locally and internationally.Carolyn had an art studio that was part of the church ministry and taught art lessons in various mediums to homeschool children and women. Her husband David, who wrote the question and answer section for this book, also established a church in Peru and helped with the ministry in several other churches abroad.Her love for stories, writing and illustrating began in childhood sitting at her grandmother's feet and listening to the many stories that she wrote to entertain her grandchildren. She began writing when her own stories following in the footsteps of her grandmother. Although Grandma's stories were never published, Carolyn illustrated one of her stories when she was about nine years old.She and her husband David live in the South Hills of Pittsburgh with their daughter Angie. Their daughter Katie and husband Frank and daughter live in the Pittsburgh area as well.
