But, much to Itota's delight, Iyobo goes on to flourish and as she gets older decides her mission in life is to find a way of helping children like her brothers and dreams of becoming a doctor. But, then something happens that could end Iyobo's dreams forever, she just has to find her way through it.

Evelyn Ogbebor Iguisi was born in Benin City, Nigeria. While lecturing at the University of Benin, Nigeria, she met her husband who was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Research on Intercultural Cooperation at the University of Maastricht, Holland. She became a young mother while studying for a Ph.D. degree in Belgium at the University of Brussels. She later became the publisher of AFRIFAME magazine, published in English and French. Having relocated to the United Kingdom, she went to the University of Nottingham for a post graduate certificate in Education. She has been teaching French and German in a Language College in Essex, England. The Sin of the Mother is based on information Evelyn has gathered over a long period of time and says ¿She has depended entirely on the master teacher of all, The Holy Spirit who is polishing her every day on her art of telling stories.¿
