Autorenporträt
Professor Bipin B Mishra graduated from Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa, Samastipur and PhD from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He was Chief Soil Survey Officer and Chairman of the Department of Soil Science at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour besides holding the position of the founder Registrar and Associate Dean-cum-Principal at BAU, Sabour. He has more than 80 peer reviewed scientific publication and has delivered numerous oral and poster presentation in national and international conferences. He served Ethiopia as Professor in soil survey and land evaluation for five years (2000-05) under World Bank Project and later for two years as Professor of Land use planning (2016-18) under UNDP. He developed Photopedogenesis as a new chapter in soil science and proposed the Indian system of soil classification. Professor Mishra was assigned as the Chair Person by late Jon Hempel in one of the Task Groups under the Working Group of the Universal Soil Classification. He is elected as the Vice Chair of Commission 1.4 (Soil Classification) under the International Union of Soil Sciences (2018-22). He has a distinguished academic record and superannuated in 2016.
