The Special Cupcake conveys a positive message that can be appreciated by both children and adults. The young boy featured in the story demonstrates the value of seeing the essence of what something is instead judging it solely on its appearance; its not what it looks like on the outside, but whats on the inside that counts. The story also touches on the value of doing something you love and being appreciated for a job well done.
