We Australians and New Zealanders have one thing in common, that is, the bond formed by our forefathers. Like many, my family lost brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, uncles, and aunties. Thankfully my Grandfather William McCubbing Carruthers survived WW1 and married his nurse Anne Halliday. After the war, settled in New Zealand and built a very successful Dairy Farm business, was a member of the RSA, President of the Agricultural Society, but to me he was my Grandad. My hope is, that through this book, families, like mine, can fully appreciate the bond, and the comradeship, but to also share that love and share the stories, for one another whether you be black, white, or any other colour, true brotherhood/sisterhood lies in our heritage of the TasAnimates. Mates Always. God Bless you all! Sarene
