Roger takes K and Madeline skiing in the French Alps where they are the guests of an old family friend of Roger's, 'the Contessa'. A woman of varied tastes, Roger offers K and Madeline to the Contessa for her pleasure. She is so delighted with them she asks if they can be the entertainment at one of her regular "parties" where K is a big hit and the main prize in a charity slave auction.

On their trip and subsequent return to England, secrets are exposed, emotions rise to the surface and their whole relationship may be about to collapse around them, as that old adage becomes true, 'Be careful what you wish for.'
