About ten years ago, the author began taking his blood pressure regularly and recording it so he could see how well his blood pressure medication was working. For two years, he'd followed his doctor's orders but was suffering from dizziness, light-headedness, a lack of energy, and other side effects from taking medication that was meant to lower his blood pressure. He also began documenting how much time and energy he was spending trying to control his blood pressure. His efforts resulted in a perfect record of how his blood pressure rose with specific activities versus when his body was at rest. Throughout the book, the author focuses on how the cardiovascular system works, how the heart functions, how essential blood flow functions, the various forms of energy, and the important bodily functions. THE TRUTH ABOUT BLOOD PRESSURE explores blood pressure while exposing how many doctors are leading patients astray in their efforts to treat high blood pressure.
