Each of us has had the opportunity to question our actions, motives, thoughts, values, etc. If you are anything like me, you have probably found yourself undergoing intense interrogation and extremely focused scrutiny by the one antagonist that you cannot escape…YOU! You see, God has given us both power and authority to rebuke and/or resist Satan and he will flee at least for a season. But we cannot escape ourselves. I am sure at some point, you have heard the old Chinese proverb, "No matter where you go, there you are," We cannot escape ourselves, and all of the baggage that we carry. When dissatisfied with certain events or outcomes, we start asking questions like, "Why did I say that, or why did I do that, or why didn't I just do what I knew was right…etc..., etc., etc.

f we are not careful, we will do the enemy's work for him, and allow ourselves to sink further and further into spiritual lethargy and never see the tremendous growth opportunities that each challenge presents. Hebrews 5:8 states that "Jesus learned by the things that he suffered." This means that every one of his life experiences helped to prepare him to be the instrument of His Father's will, honoring, strengthening, and undergirding his resolve "to do the will of him that sent me and to finish this work" (John 4:34 KJV). As with the Lord himself, our individual life experiences have the ability to be transformative, with each building on the former until we become, not who we could be, but who we should be. This transformative process, by which we grow and go from glory to glory, is known as unveiling.

Autorenporträt

Pastor, Dr. Melinda D. Pickens was born in Bartow Florida and she has resided in Port Arthur Texas for the last 33 years. She is a faithful member and Associate Pastor of Christ Temple New Life Ministry. Pastor M. Pickens has been a minister of the Gospel for approximately twenty years as well as served for the last eighteen years as an instructor on the staff of School of the Prophets Christian Seminary.

Dr. Pickens is a 1981 graduate of Haines City High School. She presently holds several degrees, including a doctorate. She started her higher education journey at The University of Phoenix, where she earned an Associate of Arts in Business in 2010 and a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2013.

Always wanting to grow in her Christian knowledge and faith, Dr. Pickens earned both her Masters and Doctorate in Theology from the School of the Prophets Christian Seminary. She has the gifts of singing, acting, directing and she is a twenty-year veteran of C. A. S. T. (Christian Artist Showcase Theater). Dr. Melinda Pickens has performed in numerous plays and skits to the glory of God. She is an employee of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
