When it came to the Ravynne sisters' blighted love life, anything that could go wrong usually did. Most often it was either the wrong man...the wrong place...or the wrong time, until they, finally, decided that having a man complicate their lives just wasn't worth all the heartache. If either sister thought otherwise, from time to time, (especially during the long dark nights spent staring at the ceiling wishing "if only" times!) they, usually, kept it to themselves.

So, the last thing they are expecting is romance in any of its myriad forms, when they head to Scotland to rescue their brother Allyn from the clutches of his latest love interest, Orianna, who is reputed to be a Baobhan Sith...or Scottish vampire.
Arriving in Glasgow, they head up into the Highlands, and find the village where Allyn is staying. Peaceful...almost idyllic at first glance, the sisters are more than a little surprised, when they slam into a wall of unexplained hostility that jangles all their inner warning bells. The only friendly soul they find there is the minister, Angus McFarland, who tells them their brother has moved to the 18th century manor house restored by the mysterious Seth Marley, who became the new Laird of Blackcreag, when he purchased the title along with the manor, the village, and the ancient castle (renamed 'Blood Castle' some centuries before for a very good reason!) perched above the sea on its dark crag.
Now little more than a ruin, Blood Castle is haunted by the dark and tormented 15th century Highland laird, Grey MacMorley, who finds himself obsessed with Meg from the moment he first sees her 'ogling' his portrait, shortly after the sisters move to the manor by Seth Marley's invitation in hopes they can counteract "the poisonous influence" of his daughter, Orianna, whose "dark appetites" will be the death of their brother if she isn't stopped.
But all too soon the rescuers need rescuing, when they become deeply enmeshed in the tangled threads of dark perversions and madness that surround the old manor. Plotting their escape with the help of some not so lively friends,, they soon find that even the best laid plans do indeed "often go awry"... especially for the Ravynne sisters.

Autorenporträt
There are six things important to me...well, most important to me: To love unconditionally, to always keep a sense of 'wonder', to always be kind, to find joy in simple things, to never take myself too seriously, and to make sure I don't leave this earth with a list of "if only I hads".
I've taken many 'leaps of faith' in my time and, so far, have landed on my feet or, in one case, on a dilapitated houseboat with my dog, and a lot of enthusiasm. I named her 'Sanctuary Annie' and hoped for the best. I knew nothing about boats, couldn't swim and wondered how long she would stay afloat. In the middle of the night, when my dog jumped up to join me on the antique Victorian bed I had moved on board, I would check to see if he was wet, knowing, if so, we were both in big trouble. But Sanctuary Annie hung in there, even surviving a hurricane, when others around her were not so fortunate.
Living in the small marina, with the sea as my back yard, I found a profound sense of peace..and the love of my life....my Jim, captain of 'Wings', a beautiful racing sloop that flies across the water, when the wind fills her sails.
I often think how much I would have missed out on, if I hadn't taken that leap of faith and followed my heart. Life is meant to be lived and I intend to keep on doing just that.
