This chapbook is a collection of poems from TJ Wellington, an African American writer, which reflect her observations during imprisonment in solitary confinement. The rythm and subject matter vary in the pieces presented in the chapbook. Turning a negative into a positive is an arduous endeavor. Solitary confinement is not the place to be. It is a traumatizing experience, no doubt. Nonetheless, the author was able to turn it into a sabbatical of sorts and retain her sanity. This chapbook is the first published writings from that period.
