Produktbeschreibung
Life changes when Dakota Jackson meets, head-on, an eighteen-wheeler on a sharp curve. When the load of lumber shifts, it takes Dakota's pickup and trailer into the Malheur River with it, killing both Dakota and the trucker behind the wheel. Alone, his wife Summer, a trained trauma nurse, tries to manage their cattle ranch and raise their three young children. Meanwhile, Tanner Greywolf, while gathering lost cows in the high mountains, falls with his horse and breaks his leg. Summer, an adjunct member of the local emergency medical team, comes to his rescue, and a new pattern begins to take shape on the Weaver's Loom. The Weaver's Tale portrays the day to day ranching life in the desert country of Oregon, with its cowboys, rustlers, horses, and cattle. Crandell explores the relationship that develops when two strangers, who against all odds, meet and through mutual need begin a journey that starts the healing process for both. With vivid description and from the heart writing, Crandell portrays loss, heartache, jealousy, and love, the basic emotions that drive each life.

Autorenporträt
Carol Crandell, a retired language arts teacher who taught Oregon children how to write, learned to write as her students wrote. She holds a master's degree in English from Portland State University and is the author of Merry-Go-Round, a memoir in prose, fiction, and poetry. It does not matter that she now lives in a green valley with lots of rain, the basalt rims, desert sand, and sage are in her blood. Her earlier life east of the Cascade Mountains left indelible memories, smells, and sounds that find their way into her writing. For now, her companion in life is Twiggy, a fifteen-pound tabby cat.
