Freddie T Camel is the pen name of a former cartoonist whose work used to be regularly published. At the time, he thought this would lead to bigger and better things. It didn't. He began to realise that life doesn't work the way it does in the movies.

This is also true of love and relationships. It is comforting to read romantic stories which end 'happily ever after', but not realistic. On the other hand, stories which are 'realistic' can be utterly depressing. You close such a book wondering whether men and women are doomed to make one another miserable. Isn't there a middle ground?

I don't know the answer, so I write stories that explore the question. What is Love? And what are the things we call 'love' that are not Love? Great sex after years of mediocre sex can feel like love ... but is it? These are the waters I like to explore, throwing my characters into sexy situations and seeing what they do as they strive to make sense of things.

I have no idea how many readers there might be for such stories and if there are, how to find them. But that is a question for the author, not the reader. If you start reading and find yourself drawn into the story, that's all that really matters.
