A story based in and around Leeds, Yorkshire in 1820 to 1845. William Illingworth was a watch maker in Wortley, Leeds. Investigated twice by the newly formed Leeds Police Force, William Illingworth led an interesting life in the dark and smoke laden streets of Holbeck and Wortley.
In 1850, he came with his extensive family to an area of Philadelphia known as the Northern Liberties and established himself and his descendants in the history of the United States.
