Indu Balachandran had a 30-year career in advertising, before switching to travel writing. She has published articles in Travel Plus, The Lonely Planet, iDiva, The Sunday Times and reviewed seventy ecofriendly destinations all over India for Travel to Care. Her writings have featured in five anthologies of short stories. She lives in Chennai. The Writers' Retreat is her second novel.
