Zoo of Misfits
A brilliant scientist Professor Gudrun Bullivant Rhodes suffers the devastating loss of a lifetimes study into the Giant Peruvian Anteater. Suffering a massive breakdown he recovers and sues his University for a fortune which he uses to purchase a rundown privately owned zoo on the fringe of the city.
On inspection he finds that it's not quite as advertised. Few animals are left after the previous neglectful owner had used the place as a dodgy tax deduction. Liquidators have stripped the place bare to recover debts. They take everything except for the remaining animals which were considered too weird to be worth their feed. However the animals remaining all have one amazing characteristic, they are almost all physical misfits.
Can the dear old Prof turn this zoo of misfits around and even dream of making a profit? The zoo's infrastructure and animals are rundown, and receives few visitors. The redirection a major highway saw to that. The future looks grim. Just when he thought all was lost he wakes one morning to find the dynamic woman who will become his wife has cycled into his life and from there on things begin to take an upward curve.
The Prof makes a remarkable discovery about his heritage and the ancient heritage of the land on which his zoo sits. Could this be the answer to why Australia has so many strange and unique animals?
