For avid readers, veterans of life's challenges, and observers of human nature, this is an inspirational collection of funny, family-friendly short stories that explore the theme of being insecure about yourself. Produktbeschreibung
For avid readers, veterans of life's challenges, and observers of human nature, this is an inspirational collection of funny, family-friendly short stories that explore the theme of being insecure about yourself. Through seven brief humorous skits that exhibit gentle sarcasm in genres ranging from silent film to paranormal romance, Shakespearean drama, and fairy tale courts, teens and adults try to figure out what to do as kids grow up and relationships between grownups change. With a lack of perfection in the journey, of course! Through intrigue (Sarcophagus; The Destiny of Princes); comedy (In the End the Story Ended; A Matter of Life and Hair) and personal growth (Ella Substituted; Movies at the Beach; Everwood), people become wiser about themselves. Beneath three cases of mistaken identity; some long Rapunzel-type hair that has become a fire hazard; a war between mummies, vampires, and teenagers; and a royal argument over fashion--there is an underlying tone of wistfulness and an acknowledgment that growing up and growing older are both pretty tricky challenges. If you feel you wouldn't have life any other way than its faulty self, you'll find something to enjoy in this book.

Autorenporträt
Books for younger readers from 13-18. Can be enjoyed by readers 19 and up until death (the sky is the limit as long as you are still alive), assuming you retain enough sense of humor to keep up with the younger audiences. Sometimes adults get slow and cranky. If you are one of them, you might find the pace fast, snappy, and loaded with rapid plot twists and dialogue you're actually supposed to read, but everyone else should give my books a try.

Author Bio

And that just about covers my books. What about myself? Well, I am a farm girl who lives in rural Texas, surrounded by big blue skies, cornfields, and winding gravel roads. After avidly reading every young adult book I could find, including classics like Louisa May Alcott and J.R.R. Tolkien, I took to writing without thinking twice about it. I've published 8 Teen fiction titles and I alternate between writing realistic family dramas and historical adventures, with a dose of science fiction that sprang up on its own and fits neatly somewhere in between the other two. And I was for 8 years--one for each book!--the devoted fan (as she'd undoubtedly have put it) of our family's beloved, blind Pomeranian. She has now passed on, but I still love Pomeranians. If you're a Pomeranian's person--you know what unique and deeply lovable dogs they are. You just know.
