'Those Amazing Kids In Mr. W's Class' reminds you to never underestimate a middle school student. They are amazing in surprising ways. Mr. W moves out of his comfort zone and accepts a job as a teacher of Career Exploration at a big-city middle school. As he strives to connect with his students, he finds them creative and complicated. Enjoy heartfelt stories such as Tag, You're It, The Roller Coaster Ride, Extra Credit for Sarcasm, Running Through Cobwebs, and The Empty Desk. These stories provide a vivid portrayal of a teacher's life, the impact of the students he meets, and the insights he gains from them. Mike Woodard is a graduate of Michigan State University and worked for over 20 years as a Market Insights Director for large corporations. Then he found his dream job as a middle school teacher. He taught Career Exploration classes and coached both the boys' and the girls' basketball teams. It was an eye-opening experience. Sometimes the roles would reverse. The teacher became the student, and the students became the teacher. Woodard is currently retired from teaching and lives with his wife in Glendale, Arizona where he continues to play basketball, tell terrible puns, and listen to a wide, eclectic mix of music.
