This book is a new experience in poetry with Spanish and English poems of varying themes and sizes, but with many sonnets. The sonnet form has not been used much in recent years but has again surfaced as a succinct way to express oneself poetically. Although these sonnets are not exactly like the ones of old of Elizabethan and Italian forms, they are an experiment in fourteen-line verse for our day.

Autorenporträt
I was born in Logan, Utah, in 1947 and raised in Cornish, Utah. I served a mission for my church in California, where I worked with the Hispanics and learned Spanish. I married Carolyn Morgan in 1970. I graduated from Utah State University in 1971 with a BA in Spanish and minors in English, German, and music. I worked in a business for a number of years and then obtained a juris doctor from Brigham Young University in 1981 and have worked as an attorney for over thirty years in various governmental agencies. I am currently semiretired from the law. I have five children and twelve grandchildren and have lived in Carson City, Nevada, for nearly twenty-five years. I speak four languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, and German, in order of fluency. I read those languages and speak some, but read French and Italian. I began writing poetry in college at USU but became serious about it in the 1980s. I am involved in music and play the organ for my church and direct the church choir.
