Join Aleyn James, a young English fisherman, on a gripping adventure in the first English colony of New England. After tragedy strikes his family, he embarks on a journey to the New World to continue his trade. Along the way, he falls in love with Acoona Stonefire, a mysterious Indian woman, and faces the challenges of survival and separation. In the sequel, 'Dry Rain,' follow Aleyn's quest to reunite with his lost love and the surprising twist of fate that awaits him. Glen F. Alden is a distinguished author with a passion for American history. A graduate of Morse High School in Bath, Maine, Glen earned his BA in English Literature from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. He also served honorably in the U.S. Navy, stationed in the Philippines and Danang, South Vietnam. In 2011, Glen relocated to Gorham, New Hampshire, where he currently owns and operates the Trail Break Airbnb, just 9 miles from the majestic Mount Washington. His fascination with history began during his childhood at West Point Village grade school in Phippsburg, Maine, where his school bus passed over the very ground where Fort St. George stood in the early 17th century. This curiosity led him to uncover the facts surrounding the first New England colony. 'Thunder Snow and Dry Rain' represents Glen's debut novel, rooted in the historical events surrounding Captain George Popham's pioneering colonization efforts and the Jamestown Colony's struggles after Captain John Smith's return to England. Glen Alden's dedication to historical accuracy and storytelling shines brightly in this gripping tale of adventure and love in the New World.
