Autorenporträt
In 1947 I was born a pound and a half in a home in Brooklyn, Nova Scotia, Canada, and had no medical equipment to keep me alive. But by the grace of God, I survived and would have grown up a southpaw. But I was forced to use my right hand; this caused dyslexia, mental confusion, and the inability to function properly in school. I attended a one-room schoolhouse, and the teacher took a disliking towards me for some unknown reasons and hit me on my arm every chance she got with a belt made from a car tire. My family moved to America in November 1953, and at the age of 23, the doctor told me that I had a brain tumor and had six months to live. However, before those six months were up, I received Christ in my life, and He gave me His Holy Spirit, which put new hope and joy in my heart. In 1977, my vision blurred, my coordination was off and was diagnosed with a brain tumor for the second time. However, Christ delivered me from death's door again. But, two years later, death gave me a heart attack, and I died. I woke in a shroud of darkness, experiencing a joy that cannot be put into words as I stared at a glowing red outline of the Lord Jesus Christ sitting on His throne. He said in a deep voice, go back, for it is not your time. In 1983, I met the love of my life, Lauren B. O'Brien, and we were married. I went back to using my left hand, dyslexia disappeared, and I became a writer, with Lauren as my editor.
