Rachael Evelyn Booth served in the US Navy for almost 9 years during the Vietnam War where she worked as a Mandarin Chinese and Arabic linguist. Afterward, in civilian life, she worked as a computer scientist programming the Navy's AEGIS shipboard weapons systems. She is an accomplished teacher, musician, singer/songwriter, martial artist, and outdoorswoman. She lives in the mountains of New England with her wife of 28 years.
