The book included the Chinese jurist Mei Ju-ao's diaries during the Tokyo Trial and his reflections after the trial. The first part of the book originates from Mei Ju-ao's unpublished manuscript named International Military Tribunal for the Far East which records the establishment and development of the war crime principles. It also offers valuable research materials on international law and international politics, including the establishment process of the tribunal and the coordinate relationship between various departments; the confirmation of the Class A War Criminal list and the follow-up arrestment and interrogation; the seat arrangement of the judges and their inner work system; the organization and responsibilities of the prosecution team and defense team; the representation of the American lawyers' participation in the defense etc.
