Though apple production still mainly relies on manual labor, a huge number of innovative technologies emerge during the past years, which pave the road for unmanned apple orchard management. A book summarizing all these new and innovative technologies is needed, to provide an easy approach to understand this field quickly and comprehensively, which drives the publication of this book. This book is a useful reference for students, researchers, and practitioners in the field of apple production.
Dr. Zhao Zhang received his B.E. and M.E. degrees in Industrial Engineering and Agricultural Mechanization from Northwest A&F University in 2009 and 2012, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, USA, in 2015. Since November 2021, Dr. Zhang has been in College of Information and Electrical Engineering, China Agricultural University, as Professor. Dr. Xufeng Wang received his B.S. in mechanical design and manufacturing from Gansu Agricultural University in 1999 and M.S. in agricultural mechanization engineering from Shenyang Agricultural University in 2007. He received his Ph.D. in machinery manufacturing and automation from China Agricultural University in 2019. Since November 2014, Dr. Wang has been in College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Tarim University, Xinjiang, China, as Professor.
