Autorenporträt

Ludwig Wittgenstein, geboren 1889 in Wien, gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Philosophen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er wuchs in Österreich auf, studierte zunächst in Berlin und siedelte dann nach England über, wohin er nach verschiedenen Zwischenstationen immer wieder zurückkehrte.
1939 wurde Wittgenstein Professor an der Universität Cambridge. Im Krieg arbeitete er in verschiedenen Krankenhäusern und kam 1945 zurück nach Cambridge. Dort starb er 1951.
