This untold odyssey was hand written by Claude in 1971 and discovered in the family safe 31 years after his death.

In 1921, Claude Prowell had a dream, a map and a motorcycle "that would go anywhere." At 19 years of age and the youngest of eight children, he left his fathers farm to "go West and see it all."His sense of travel and curiosity carried him on a solo journey which covered more than 8,000 miles and took him through sixteen states and two Canadian provinces. Claude return home one year later and resumed his responsibilities on the farm of raising cattle and thrashing wheat and grain. He married his sweetheart, Hester Azilee Lewis in 1924 and honeymooned in Miami, Florida. They produced two children. I am their granddaughter. Claude never lost his love of travel and continued his numerous trips. He became an International Harvester dealer in his home town. Claude and Hester passed in 1990 and in 1994, respectively.
