The morning began full of hope for Samantha, still aroused from the previous night. However an early morning phone call from home, and Carrie is forced to curtail their beautiful weekend. The thought of returning home crossed her mind but was immediately dismissed.

Her parents, George Bertrand Christian, an attorney who once aspired to be an actor, and Frances Hollowell insisted that Candice and her sister Simone, be sent to a Catholic school. Candice was deeply religious as a child, at one point thought of becoming a nun.
