Autorenporträt

Growing up in a small North Carolina town during the 1950s and 1960s led the author to appreciate hard work in local textile mills. Working for most of his college tuition hardened his resolve to finish his degree. Then service in the U.S. Army and a tour of duty in Vietnam showed him the seamy side of life. This led to jobs in insurance, sales, and promotion. Along the way he began writing articles in local newspapers and creating short stories.
