Like many siblings, these soon part ways for numerous reasons, and this work is no exception. This work is the lost "Fraternal Twin." Lost in time, found and brought back by a Redemptorist priest, it once again fell into obscurity, only to be rediscovered and translated into English over 100 years ago. This work was written by an abbot who, in the 1600s, was elevated to bishop in a northern town in Italy. He wrote this work for the people of this area. Similar to its sibling, this work is divided into three books. In this series, it spans two volumes. The effort of this author is focused on the parishioners of his and the surrounding communities who are seeking a more devout life while remaining in their current vocation and marital status. This work is one of the best my eyes have savored this piece is well laid out the verbiage choices are superb, and the reader is not lost nor impelled with numerous and unreasonable ascetic practices. Within these pages resides some of the best spiritual instruction for the layperson I have yet had the pleasure to peruse. Now for the first time in over 100 years, this work remarkable work is in print. It has been completely re-edited and formatted. This work was a labor of love; to date, there is no other similar work to rival this bishop's effort, nor greater medieval treatise on the subject. We trust you will agree, that this is indeed not only a marvelous piece of spiritual literature but is indeed the fraternal twin of "Imitation of Christ."
