John van Vliet grew up fishing in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, and honed his skills on the creeks of Southeastern Minnesota, An accomplished flytier and fly-fishing instructor, he has written extensively on fishing for trout.

Gary Lewis (Bend, OR) is an award-winning outdoor writer who has hunted and fished for more than two decades. He has authored six books and his work has appeared in numerous national and regional publications.
