Michael Parker was born and raised in Norfolk, the county that he continues to call home. He was educated at Eton and Cambridge, where he took a degree in agriculture (third class) in 1953. He is a keen naturalist and has travelled extensively for photographing wildlife, shooting and fishing. He is probably the only living person to have been nearly drowned in two of the world's greatest rivers, the Amazon and Zambezi. This collection of short stories is based on his experiences, from school days at Eton to excursions around the globe. The topics covered range from anecdotes about memorable holidays to discourse on life's biggest questions and everything in-between, with a large dose of humour along the way.
