Werner J. Egli, geb. 1943 in Luzern, reiste schon in jungen Jahren kreuz und quer durch die Welt, bevorzugt durch die USA, wo er dann auch lange Zeit lebte. Egli übte verschiedene Berufe aus, ehe er zu schreiben begann. Für seine Bücher wurde er mehrfach ausgezeichnet, zuletzt 1999 mit der Steirischen Leseeule. Werner Egli lebt heute in Zürich.
