The bare skeleton of this story is absolutely true. One of my contacts with the sheriff's department told me about a recent sting operation. I guess ordinarily this would not be an extraordinary story by any means, but in this case I've know the couple personally for several years. Without a doubt the last couple on earth that anyone would suspect could ever be involved in that sort of thing. Since they had nothing to do with dope, the taskforce cut them some slack and sent them home without any charges being filed. I'm sure it didn't hurt that the taskforce leader is a big football fan.

It took me the better part of three days to ferret out the juicy details. Here they are with a liberal application of literary license. It should go without saying, but I will say it anyway. The names have been changed to protect the guilty.
