Autor

Razvan Stoian graduated in 1996 from the Bucharest University, Romania, and received his doctoral degree in 2000 from the Free University, Berlin, Germany. He was with the Ultrafast Laser Material-Processing Group at the Max-Born Institute, Berlin between 1997 and 2004, and joined the Centre Nationale de la Recherche Scientifique France in 2004 where he is now Research Director. He is leading the Laser-Matter Interaction group at Laboratoire Hubert Curien in St. Etienne, France. He is equally scientific director of Manutech-USD, a technological platform for advanced laser processing for industry. His research interests include laser-matter interactions, ultrafast phenomena, beam engineering, and ultrafast laser material processing. Jörn Bonse graduated from the University of Hannover in 1996, and received a doctoral degree in 2001 from the Technical University, Berlin, Germany. He was with the Laser Zentrum Hannover (LZH), the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Madrid, and the Max-Born-Institute (MBI) in Berlin. He was subsequently appointed as a Senior Laser Application Specialist at Newport's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division in Stahnsdorf, Germany. Currently, he is a tenured scientist at the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin. His research interests include the fundamentals and applications of laser-matter interaction, surface functionalization, and laser-induced periodic nanostructures.
