Ray Sutherland, a Kentucky native, is professor of Bible at the University of North Carolina Pembroke where he has taught for 35 years. He received the Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. He is married to Regina and they have two sons and four grandchildren. He is a Baptist pastor.
