My hometown is located in the depths of the endless mountains in the southeast of Guizhou. It is a quite remote mountain village.

When I was thirteen years old, I went to the mountains to collect goods with the village adults for the first time. It was the turn of spring and summer. There were a lot of fungi in the mountains, and they could be sold at a high price in the city. People in the city like to eat them natural food.

A group of half-grown children followed behind the adults and happily went up to the hook mountain behind the village.

On Hook Mountain, the adults were busy picking fungi, and we dug out bird nests to play hamsters in the distance, playing unkemptly but having a great time.

Suddenly, a guy named Fatty bluffed in shock, as if he had discovered something extraordinary.

Seeing us whimpering around, he opened the bushes like a treasure, and there lay a small snake that was no more than a foot long, which seemed to be dying.
