Autorenporträt
Born in Deschapelle, a small town in Haiti, Anne always felt different from all of her peers. Her mother moved to the states in search of providing a better life when Anne was five years old, leaving her and her younger sister in the care of their grandmother. After three years of living with their grandmother, Anne and her sister moved to the United States, once again reunited with their mother embarking on a new adventure in a strange place, Anne struggled and oftentimes felt alone. Unable to speak the language she had difficulty making friends and fell victim to bullying. She found an escape through her "secret diary" a name she coined her journal, where she would confess her deepest secrets and record her daily activities. As time progressed, Anne was able to fully embrace and assimilate into American culture. As words started to fill endless pages, her love for words grew and confessions turned into poems. After attending a talent show at her local high school, she was inspired to write her first poem called "Fear" with a close friend from church. The enthusiasm and excitement poetry writing evoked, fueled an urgency to continue writing as well as performing for friends and family, at shows, weddings, and churches.
