A person can - and certainly should - learn a few things about life, a few lessons, especially by the middle of the third trimester of life. And it is certain that as we age, our memory doesn't sharpen. With these things in mind, I decided to do what wise, old Ben Franklin suggested when he said, "The next thing most like living one's life over again seems to be a recollection of that life, and to make that recollection as durable as possible by putting it down in writing." I also heeded the advice of Henry David Thoreau when he mused, "I should not talk so much about myself if there were anybody else whom I know so well."
