Unravelling the intricate cell signalling networks and their significance in cancer poses major intellectual challenge. Keeping this in mind, the book aims at understanding the mechanism of action of different proteins and their complexes in the cancer signalling pathways. Hence, the proposed book that comprises 20 chapters provides a comprehensive introduction on cell signalling, its alterations in cancer, molecules that have been popular targets as well as the ones that are emerging as targets. In addition, it discusses different forms of therapy that are coming up for its treatment. Other than that, a major portion of the book is focused on studying different disciplines at the interface of biology and other areas of science that are being used to understand cancer biology in depth.

Dr. Kakoli Bose is currently working as Scientific Officer at Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Mumbai, India, where she is the Principal Investigator of Integrated Biophysics and Structural Biology lab. Recently she has published a contributed volume as sole Editor of the book with Springer in the year 2015 titled “Proteases in Apoptosis: Pathways, Protocols and Translational Advances” {ISBN: 978-3-319-19496-7 (Print); 978-3-319-19497-4 (Online)}. The book has received 627 combined book chapter downloads since August, 2015.
She obtained her PhD from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA in 2003 and carried out Post-doctoral work at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, USA till 2007 before joining ACTREC as a scientist. She has several publications in reputed international journals to her credit. Dr. Bose has vast experience in the cancer cell signaling and being a biophysicist and cancer biologist by training, she brings forth a multidisciplinary and an innovative essence to the field of biomedical research. She is an Associate Editor of Bioscience Reports as well as an Editorial Board Member of Biochemical Journal, Portland Press, UK. She is also member of several prestigious associations and societies such as American Chemical Society, Biochemical Society, , Protein Society and Indian Association for Cancer Research. She has received various fellowships and awards in her scientific career including National Women Bioscientist Award, Govt. of India.
Dr. Pradip Chaudhari is currently working as a Scientific Officer at Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Mumbai, India. He has obtained PhD from University of Mumbai, India in 2008. He has also worked at the prestigious Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, before joining ACTREC. Dr. Chaudhari is widely known for his expertise in preclinical imaging in cancer and biological evaluation of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in India as well as abroad. He is a visiting/adjunct faculty at several national institutes/universities and received various fellowships and awards in his scientific career including BOYSCAST Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. He has pioneered nuclear medicine diagnostic applications for veterinary oncology patients. This has led to a dedicated Veterinary Nuclear Medicine Centre at Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai. He has played an instrumental role in biological evaluation of various diagnostic and therapeutic radiotracers.
Dr. Chaudhari is an Ad-hoc Specialist of AAALAC International, USA and has also been appointed as an Expert Member of Laboratory Advisory Committee, National Cancer Institute – All India Institute of Medical Sciences (NCI-AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He has 29 research articles published to his credit and 3 book chapters. He is editorial board member and reviewer of many reputed international journals as well as a member of several prestigious societies such as Society of Nuclear Medicine, Indian Association for Cancer Research and so forth.
