Autorenporträt
Timothy Wangusa is a novelist, poet, and professor born in 1942 in Bugisu, eastern Uganda.

He studied English at Makerere University and began working there in 1969, becoming the first Ugandan Professor of Literature in 1981. He has since served as Minister of Education in the Ugandan Government and as a Member of Parliament.

His debut novel, Upon This Mountain was published in 1989 and is commonly studied in secondary schools in Uganda. Its sequel, Betwixt Mountain and Wilderness, was released in 2015. Wangusa has also been included in numerous poetry anthologies. His poetry collections include A Pattern of Dust: Selected Poems 1965-1990 (1994) and Africa's New Brood (2006). Wangusa is currently set to publish a book, I Love You, You Beast!, which reflects on faith and literature from 1969 to 2009 and a new memoir, Lost in Wonder.
