Agricultural production has increased due to intensive cultivation and with the use of modern technology which has also lead to progressive increase in the amount of waste lands. In India where pressure on agricultural land is enormous any conversion of agriculturally productive land into waste lands has to be avoided and area which have already turned into waste lands must be reclaimed. The book is directed towards the problem of waste lands by taking Sultanpur district as a case study. Eight different types of waste lands have been recognised by conducting different types of experiments factors genesis and capability classification waste lands have been analysed, various ways and means have been suggested to reclaim different types of waste . lands. Economics of waste lands reclamation is analysed by working out cost-benefit analysis.
