Pflicht und "Pietas" im römischen Unterhaltsrecht., Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: This work voices several questions in the field of ancient Roman law including questions of (modern) Austrian, furthermore German private law, focussing on questions of family law. Though mainly written in German, it also comprises short 'summaries' in English, French, Spanish, the Italian language, and Dutch. The special 'asset' of this scientific work could, apart from the richness of its references, be seen in its multi-dimensional approach which does not 'only' focus on a/the legal aspect(s) referring to the ancient Roman society. A main goal of this work could, apart from a historical analysis of 'translations' of the word 'pietas' into other languages, esp. the German one, to be seen in its willingness to communicate (demanding, scientific) questions to its (prospective) readers. It could be regarded as an important work of reference in the area of a/the pietas-concept(s) in the past; furthermore it is of value with respect to ethical questions voiced in it when coming to aspects of (modern) Austrian, furthermore (modern) German law, especially the law(s) of maintenance, aspects of family law(s).
