John Tullock has written 16 how-to books and blogs regularly about food gardening and sustainable living at johntullock.blogspot.com. He is a self-employed consultant to industry on messaging, marketing and development of sustainable products and technology, with clients in the United States and Italy. He is an avid gardener, and among his books are: 2012: The New American Homestead: Sustainable, Self-Sufficient Living in the City or the Country, Wiley Publishing and 2010: Pay Dirt: How to Make $10,000 a Year From Your Backyard Garden, Adams Media. In 2006, the American Horticulture Society honored his Growing Hardy Orchids (which is also illustrated with numerous photos) with their Great Garden Book award. He is the author of Idiot's Guides: Straw Bale Gardening.
