Like as every other violinist of his generation, Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762) was particularly affected by the direct influence of Arcangelo Corelli, showing freedom in rhythmic and thematic embellishment, a remarkably brave and imaginative instrumental virtuosity, a harmonic and instrumental fullness that had very few equals throughout the early eighteenth century. The manuscript of Solo in C Major [from Ms. 2201-P-1] is preserved at SLUB – University Library of the Land of Saxony in Dresden. Sharon Tomaselli, violinst, has to her credit numerous concerts, in Chamber Ensembles and Orchestras, for important cultural and musical institutions. For Tactus Label, she recorded Felice Giardini’s Duets in World premiere. She is passionately dedicated also to teaching.
