The five volumes of the Waifs and Strays of Celtic Tradition are an important collection of tales, stories and legends from Argyll that were first published between 1889 and 1895.
The first volume was edited by Lord Archibald Campbell, the son of the 8th Duke of Argyll, who was also the first president of the Comunn Gaidhealach. In addition to the Craignish Tales and several other stories in both Gaelic and English it also includes Campbell's Notes on the War Dress of the Celts.
This revised series has been professionally edited and the Gaelic corrected in accordance with modem orthography.
