E. B. Fletcher has had a long career in education and writing. She has taught in Virginia schools for over twenty years and is now an education specialist in the private sector. Fletcher has been a regular classroom, Title I, and Reading Recovery teacher, as well as an educational diagnostician, administrative reading specialist, assistant principal, adjunct professor, and drum major coach. She has made numerous speaking engagements about reading and writing and the anomalies associated with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADD/ADHD. Her writings include: There's a Smudge of Fudge on the Judge, Lincoln McCarthy!; Merry Kissmus, Lincoln!; Lincoln McCarthy, Attorney at Law (January 2020 New York Times Book Review List); The Last American Star and Grandfather's Ship, the S.S. United States. Fletcher is also a member of the Hampton Roads chapter of the SS United States Conservancy.
