This book includes stories of others who have experienced afterlife visits from their animals, including a disaster relief therapy dog who served victims' families and first responders in the aftermath of the World Trade Center disaster, an unwanted dog from an unscrupulous breeder, a rescue cat who succumbs to cancer at a young age, and other poignant tales, ending with the incredible story of a couple who loses their only son and witnesses a surprising turn of events at the moment of his passing. The author delves into why some people receive these contacts and possible neurological reasons why some people can detect these visits. She also assures people who have lost their pets and who have not received contact from them that it is not because they are loved less and tells of her grieving previous dogs she loved and lost, but from whom she never received any afterlife contact. There is also information about empaths. Walking with Two Shadows can be enjoyed as a sequel or on its own. It is beautifully illustrated by the author and contains narrative photographs by the author and others.
