Autorenporträt
57 years ago, around this time of year, I was sitting on a dusty soccer field with a small group of other new Webster Academy students. We are all just getting to know each other after dinner. Twilight gradually yielded to dusk. The conservation generally were veiled confessions about what we did so wrong that remanded us to the joint. Eventually, it got darker. And so, too, the conversation which turned to metaphysics. Each more or less postulated about their ideas. Religion, universe, etc.

When my turn came, I looked up, around and back to the 5 or 6 of us, and said," How do we know we're the only ones here right now?"

What came back.

I said, "What if another life form or something shared our space, but we can't see, touch, smell them, it??, they?"

That punctuated the end of that meeting. Looking back, I was referring to something I had absolutely no prior knowledge of, nor many others at that time did as well.

Parallel universes. Multiple dimensions.

I've never forgotten that . Have wondered where it came from. And now it's abundantly clear why and how I wrote my first novel "One Rode In". It was always in the cards! If you have inclinations that there are other forces in our world we don't really understand but your experiences tell you they are; you'll like this read and the two others subsequently.
